Team True North is rookie, Laura Moore, Driver, and two-time returning Rebelle, Susan Pieper, Co-Driver/Navigator. Laura watched the Rebelle Rally last year and has been training, studying and preparing for this Rebelle for more than a year. Susan previously rallied with other teammates first as navigator and then as driver. Laura and Susan became a team in June of this year after having had changes in partners due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, after spending seat time together training, they saw similarities in life outlook and temperament. Both feel guided by their inner heading to live a life of adventure and to seek out challenges. Team True North wants to cross the finish line having left nothing on the course.
Laura is a retired teacher both to school-aged youths as well as to graduate students at a seminary. She is also a wife, mother, grandmother, and adventurer. Besides wheeling her Jeep, she loves hiking, road trips, and traveling with her husband. In the last few years Laura and her husband, Brad, have hiked part of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, skydived, and RV-ed through Alaska. They live by their motto which is to have their children ask, “Who are you and what have you done with my parents?!”
Susan is an entrepreneur, business owner, mom and lives up to her nickname, “Send It” Susan. Before getting into off roading, Susan spent 20 years sailing and has logged more than 10,000 ocean miles. Since moving to Tetons, Susan enjoys overlanding and car camping in her lifted 4Runner with Total Chaos suspension, CBI Offroad Fab bumpers, Prinsu rack and even a pedal commander to get more performance out of the engine. She also enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, and cliff jumping sessions with her teenage son, Steven, who is a huge supporter of the Rebelle and also his mom’s biggest fan.
