Rachael Ridenour is returning to the Rebelle for the third time, making her one of a small group that has competed every year. She makes an effort to bring someone as a partner who will benefit from the experience from a rehabilitation standpoint. As a 30 year member of the US Army she has seen the importance of rehabilitation and transistion for returning veterans and this led her to the formation of Record The Journey, a non-profit organization that takes veterans and their families on outdoor photography adventure to help them be present and connect with nature. This year’s Rebelle almost didn’t happen though, when 3 weeks before the Rally her chosen partner was deployed. Luckily original Rebelle Taylor Pawley was able to step in at the last minute. Taylor just returned from 2 years Overlanding Central and South America and is in a place of transition herself as she navigates back in to real life.
