TEAM FREE RANGE DAMES, #179

VEHICLE: 2012 Toyota Tacoma

Elise Bent is originally from Calgary, Alberta where she adventured in the Canadian Rockies. Now based out of Bozeman, Montana, she works as an e-commerce specialist for Go Fast Campers and skis, hikes, and camps out of various overland rigs. Her love of travel, outdoor adventures, and good challenges led her into the overlanding industry and eventually to pursue the Rebelle Rally. With considerable experience with cartography and navigating in the backcountry, Elise is the highly qualified team navigator.

Mercedes Lilienthal is an Oregon-based freelancer specializing in vehicular adventure travel. She and her husband Andy, run Crankshaft Culture, an automotive website believing every vehicle is an adventure and Subcompact Culture, a site dedicated to small cars. Mercedes, a US/German dual citizen, loves to travel. Her freelance work includes writing, editing, photography, event coverage, and marketing services. Mercedes is the driver.

The two met at the Northwest Overland Rally two years ago, at a Crankshaft Culture-sponsored wine tasting, and have been friends ever since, seeing each other frequently at overland related events across the country. Since teaming up to tackle the Rebelle, they’ve been featured in numerous magazine articles and podcasts.
