9TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 10 – 19, 2024

#210

eMpowered

Liz and Kelsey know one another through the rally community! They have competed at the same events in their own rally cars. Kelsey jumped on the Rebelle wait list in October and when Liz heard she reached out to Kelsey to see if she had a teammate. This will be their first time competing together.

Fun Fact:

I compete in stage rally with my partner Calvin. We both have BMW rally cars. I competed as a co-driver with him for 5 years in our E30. Last year we added my Z3 Coupe rally car to our team. It's the only Z3 Coupe rally car in the United States.

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

In June of 2021 I my best friend since childhood Chrissy passed away. She was my biggest fan, most passionate supporter, and closest confidant. She and I had had a conversation shortly before she passed about how I was dreaming of competing in the Rebelle one day. She said to me "GIRL one day your gonna have people and sponsors lined up around the block to support you, I KNOW your gonna do that rally!" After she passed I reached out to my racing community and was able to get sponsorship support to cover my entry which made this event possible.

Who, or what, inspires you most?

eMpowering and encouraging others inspires me to give my best both in and out of the car. I couldn't do any of this without the support from my partner Calvin and my mother Roxanna!

Greatest adventure to date?

The Sno* Drift Rally had to be my biggest adventure yet! This was only my 3rd event as a stage rally driver. Since I am from Southern Missouri I rarely get a chance to drive in snow. Competitors are not allowed to use studded tires and the roads turned to sheet ice the night before the event. I also had a first time Co-Driver who had never navigated a rally before. Some competitors withdrew due to conditions but Olivia and I were not about to back down from a challenge! We faced insanely difficult conditions and were able to cross the finish line together with many wild stories to tell!

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

I have followed races like the Dakar Rally and the Gazelle rally and have been intrigued by the level of navigation needed. This event really ties together my passion for cars as well as my love for the wilderness.

Who, or what, inspires you most?

Learning new skills to better my abilities.
