I bought a rally car last year and have competed in two ARA rallies this year.
Nicole first told me about this race. I was always interested in rallying. We both work in the motorsport world as trackside engineers. I have been thinking of racing myself recently after watching my drivers at the track. I finally got the opportunity to do so, so figured why not.
Seeing people with a similar background and experiences as me succeed and do what I thought what was out of reach inspires me.

I once crashed a hang glider and unknowingly rafted the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world, all in the same weekend. My mom and I got matching black eyes.
Why not? It'll make for a great story. But for real, it just felt like the next big adventure. A way to learn entirely new skills and test the skills I have, a way to get into driving competitively, and way to meet like-minded ladies that can introduce me to all kinds of new adventures! Why now? Because my awesome teammate Serena jumped right on the opportunity and signed us up, it was the push I need to make it happen. She made me realized that the timing is never going to be perfect so might as well do it while we can!
I find a lot of things in life inspiring, but none as much as my family. They are the hardest working people I know and still somehow always manage to have a good time. They're endlessly supportive and always down for any shenanigans I can come up with. They inspire me to keep living life to the fullest and to always keep growing and learning. My dad always says that anything worth doing, is worth doing right. It's a phrase that inspires me and one that I do my best to live by.

When I studied abroad in New Zealand my friends and I took a helicopter tour that dropped us off on a glacier to hike around for few hours. The guide was carving our route as we went.
