We first met when Jenn & Nat were raising funds for their team, the Long Beach RaceHers, for the 2024 rally. Marie saw their post on the Rebelle Facebook page and when she realized the location was close to home, she HAD to show up to support. Eventually we became friends through the Rebelle. When Marie’s navigator Hanna decided that she would be hanging up her plotter for the 2025 year, the hunt for a navigator was on. Then Marie saw a post of Jenn in the desert in her YJ. A lady who doesn’t mind wheeling in an older rig was the perfect choice. Marie slid into her DMs, there were some negotiations made over Chicken Tenders and cold beers, and the rest is history.

Enduro Math makes me happy.
In 2020 I became a widow and the realization that life is short and we should do what we can with the time we have suddenly held a lot more meaning for me. Offroad adventuring with Bernard was something that I had always wanted to do but somehow could never find the time. In 2020, Bernard was still sitting in my driveway and not running. We started the long journey to get him from Driveway Ornament to Trail Ready to Rebelle Finisher. Now here we are, ready to cross that starting line for the 3rd time.
Dolly Parton & Miss Piggy. They are 2 strong women who truly embrace who they are. Sure, one is a songwriter and a philanthropist and one karate chops those she finds moderately annoying, but they are both inspiring in their own ways. I strive to live a life that can make them both proud

The 2023 Rebelle and all of the preparation it took to get there. The adventure continues as we learn more, practice more, and spend more time out where the cell phone signal ends. The training and experience that I have gained has encouraged me to explore more and adventure often.

Finish and Have Fun. As a Privateer Team, getting to the starting line is a huge accomplishment and finishing is even better. The real win in the Rebelle is all of the wonderful people that we have met along the way.
Adventures with my little family, and trying to hit some of the most obscure roadside stops along the way. Seeing the sights is wonderful, but seeing them with 2 dogs and a cat makes it even better. Our most recent adventure was a 2 week road trip to Seattle and back in our 1993 Centurion C350/Four Wheel Camper.
I grew up as a big fan of motorsports. I always thought that I would just be a spectator. The Rebelle has changed all of that for me. I am so proud of the fact that Young Me would think that Old Me is so cool.
I reset my National Parks bucket list in 2020. So I get to start over again and visit the parks and appreciate all of the beautiful sights that they have to offer. I also recently became a Co-Chair of the Trail Repair/Tread Lightly Program for the SoCal Rover Club.
Personally, I love the high desert for the wide open spaces and the beautiful landscape. Bernard, however, prefers the nice hill climbs that the terrain in Mammoth has to offer.
The unknown. I am a big planner and have subjected my boyfriend and other travel buddies to my very detailed itinerary spreadsheets. (I just might have columns for distances and expected travel times…) Waking up every day not knowing what surprises await us is both the best and most challenging part of the Rebelle for me.
I can do hard things. I know that. Life has thrown some tough curveballs at me and my job revolves around life/death situations all the time. But the Rebelle is a hard thing that I chose. I didn’t have to power my way through because I had no other option. The Rebelle is a hard thing that I wanted to do for myself. Making that decision made me realize that I don’t just do the difficult things because I HAVE to. Sometimes I choose the challenges because I WANT to.
My dad invented a game when I was a little kid. He would point to a car and if I could tell him the make & model, he would give me a quarter. (It was the 80s and a quarter could really buy you a lot as a young kid)

You can probably bribe me to do anything with a bean and cheese burrito and my nickname is "Squirrel".
Why not?! Year 10 is going to be amazing!
My mother inspires me the most. She is the one growing up always pushing to explore the world and try new experiences. Now that she is a retired nurse, her and my father are out living their best lives- cruising and exploring the world!

Great adventure to date was when I road tripped to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in our LJ Jeep,a backpacking tent, and a pile of offroading dreams.
2024
My objective is to have fun and not get totally utterlessly lost. Maybe... finish in the 40's. When Marie slide into my DMs earlier this year looking for a new navigator, I was over the moon excited. Of course, I had to play it cool but not so secretly inside I was screaming "Yes, YES!" to her ask. To be Rebelling with an amazing lady and in Bernard. Absolutely, yes. Bernard is his own main character.
My passions involve 4 & 8 wheels. From 4 wheeling and exploring dirt roads to delivering hard hits on the roller derby track. I love roller skating, from cruising down by the beach, spinning in circles at the roller rink, to starting to learn how to skate on a half pipe (vert ramp). When I am feeling creative, I love to macrame and owned a small business for a while selling macrame at popup craft shows.
Bought my first Jeep in 2016 (a 2005 LJ) and fell in love with it. Now, I have a fleet of offroad vehicles, my current is a 2021 Ford Ranger. I love waiting any Baja race and even was lucky enough to join friends down in Baja to watch the races live. Having some basic knowledge prior to my first Rebelle helped me approach the Rally with confidence that I can jump out and hit the tools if in a pickle.
I've been playing roller derby since 2012 and only had 1 ankle sprain! I own 3 pairs of roller skates and 1 pair of ice skates. I love to get outdoors and camp.
2024 my favorite part was when we were on an enduro through a high desert mountain pass. It was absolutely gorgeous. I'm a mountain girlie so anything to do with mountains was my favorite. I loved the tech inspection at McCoy station. Epic.
Day 7. After spending majority of the rally in limp mode, we then discovered that our Terra Trip wasn't connecting so we lost the ability to track in kilometers. We laughed into tears came, slapped on some glitter and manned up. We used the stock odo in the 4Runner and tracked using miles. We got very off course, taking a lovely scenic trip to Palm Springs and Quintina and somehow, made it ON TIME to the green CP by the Integratron! We were able to collect a few CPs in Johnson Valley, then cross the finish line with smiles!
I feel more confident in navigating the everyday world. PreRebelle I would get lost on the way to the grocery store! Now, I can give directions using north, south, etc! I am more confident in my ability to be out in the wilderness and navigate my way in the terrain. I want to come back to give Rebelle a round two.
My very first car was a pile of ahem, let's say garbage. A 1980 something Honda Accord, well used and abused by my father. Literally you could lift of the floor mat and see the road from a hole in the floor board! That car built character because it was a character!
