10TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 8 – 18, 2025

#120

Team Grit & Grace

In 2024, Cara and her teammate mentored under Holly and her teammate, and the four quickly built a friendship grounded in grit, growth, and a love for the rally. But at a February Barlow Adventures training in the dunes of Glamis, Cara and Holly discovered a natural rhythm—one that felt too strong to ignore. When the opportunity came to join forces—pairing Cara’s determination behind the wheel with Holly’s sharp navigation—they felt it was the right move. Now they’re heading into the 10th Anniversary of the Rebelle Rally with a fresh partnership and a fire to compete at their highest level.

Cara McClellan

Driver

When it comes to achieving my goals, I’m tenacious and relentless. I try to approach that manner with grit and grace.

What is your occupation and what does that mean to you?

YouTube Content Creator. I strongly dislike the words “social media influencer”. Instead my hope is that I can educate and inspire others to find their own passions. I don’t want followers; I want others to join the adventure by making their own memories.

Fun Fact:

I’ve lost over 200lbs and love challenging myself physically (from skydiving to competing in the Rebelle) to remind myself that I CAN do the hard things. All of which I couldn’t have easily done before.

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

The Rebelle Rally is a beautiful off-road precision navigation event that brings together so many women of varying backgrounds. From training for 2024 to post rally in October, it truly challenged me—physically and emotionally. I’m ready to see what this year’s rally will teach me.

Who, or what, inspires you most?

My daughter inspires me most. She’s beautiful inside and out, loves deeply, and will also say the hard things when they need to be said. I want to be more like her each and every day.

Greatest adventure to date?

Each day is an adventure and a gift. Aren’t we all living our greatest adventure? Europe, Costa Rica, or even in the Ozark National Forest back home. I’m thankful for whatever adventure I’m on with my hubby or daughter.

What are your competition objectives and why?

I want to do my best every day—exploring, chasing checkpoints, remembering the rally is the gift, and being the best teammate I can be.

What makes you tick, outside of work?

I love photography, but I’m genuinely a hobby hoarder! HAHA! We also have three French bulldogs that seem to consume all of our love too. :)

What is your background in motorsports, and how does that shape how you're approaching the Rebelle?

I’ve driven off-road for over 10 years, and last year was my first year to compete in the Rebelle Rally. I think the general knowledge is a tool to have, but you can never know how the rally itself will shape you.

What kind of cool experiences do you have outside of the Rebelle?

I’ve competed in MANY half marathons, marathons, and races. I’ve went skydiving 4 times, and generally love seeking out life experiences.

Which terrain is your favorite part of the course and why?

I love it all! I think I prefer the rocks to the sand though.

What is the most challenging part of the Rally for you?

The hardest part of the rally for me is the exhaustion (physically and mentally) while also needing to remember all the things you’ve trained and practiced for once you’re out there.

How has the rally changed you and what made you want to come back?

Last year’s Rebelle Rally showed me I am a competent and skilled driver, but the final day left me fearful of returning to the driver’s seat. After several trainings this year, I’ve learned that I need to trust my instincts and be confident in my off-road driving capabilities. I very much want a memorable rally for all the right reasons.

Do you have any memorable moments with cars?

I loved conquering the Jeep Badge of Honor trail “Pritchett Canyon”. It was something I had built my wrangler to do prior to its life as a rally rig. It’s an amazing trail that will test your rig and you.

Holly Casey

Navigator

I love staying busy so I tend to always say ‘yes’!

What is your occupation and what does that mean to you?

Retirement has allowed me to explore various hobbies more fully. The biggest part of retirement is spending time with my 5 grandchildren.

Fun Fact:

I’m a left handed navigator!

Why the Rebelle? Why now?

The Rally has a strong magnetic pull for me. It's the best game that I've ever played. But it's the Rebelles that keep bringing me back. I've never met a group of women as intelligent, interesting, observant and curious. Rebelles have created a fantastic community for me.

Who, or what, inspires you most?

I’m inspired by people who persevere despite having challenges in life or personally—people who don’t give up!

Greatest adventure to date?

Moving from California to Idaho was a multi year process. I’m glad it’s over, but it was one heck of an adventure.

Prior Years Competed:

2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

What are your competition objectives and why?

I want to have a fun year and improve both mine (and my teammates’) skills.

What makes you tick, outside of work?

I love mountain biking, water and snow skiing, quilting. I’m also pretty handy with a hammer! We just finished remodeling our home and love building things.

What is your background in motorsports, and how does that shape how you're approaching the Rebelle?

Zero minus passenger to some amazing Rebelle drivers.

What kind of cool experiences do you have outside of the Rebelle?

My husband and I have a Piper Twin Comanche that we love to fly all over the country.

Which terrain is your favorite part of the course and why?

I love high mountain passes due to their unlimited vistas. (You can see the checkpoints better! HA!)

What is the most challenging part of the Rally for you?

The biggest struggle for me is lack of sleep and the exhaustion that sets in after repeated mental use over the course of days.

How has the rally changed you and what made you want to come back?

I genuinely thought I was finished after my 2024 Rebelle Rally. The rally hasn’t necessarily taught me to do hard things, but it’s allowed me to learn different types of hard things. I want to take those experiences (mine personally and what I’ve learned competing) with me to the 2025 rally. Plus I wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to compete with Cara for THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY!

Do you have any memorable moments with cars?

It was such a fun experience competing in the Rebelle Rally in 2018. We competed in a 1969 Jeep Wagoner which qualified us for the 40/30 designation.

I love my Jeep Wrangler named Boo. It’s built exactly for the rally and has proven its off-road capabilities time and time again. As our third teammate, she’s ready to compete again as well!!
