10TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 8 – 18, 2025

Rebelle Rally Celebrates Six Years of Partnership With Iridium

October 4, 2025 (Reno, NV) The Rebelle Rally is turning ten, and for the sixth straight year as partner, Iridium Communications is the heartbeat of safety, scoring, communication, and real-time updates that make this extreme outdoor endurance event possible. Iridium’s technology has been part of the rally since its inception in 2016, powering safe navigation and real-time tracking from day one.

Covering more than 2,800 kilometers of remote landscapes, the Rebelle Rally is built to push limits. Competitors navigate without GPS or cell phones, and yet fans around the world can follow every move. That connection exists because of Iridium’s truly global satellite network.

“Ten years ago, we set out to prove what is possible when you combine skill, grit, and adventure,” said Emily Miller, Rebelle Rally founder. “To do that safely and fairly, especially in the backcountry where there is no margin for error, we rely on technology built for the most remote places on the map. Iridium keeps us connected so we can run the rally safely and fairly.”

How Iridium Powers the Experience

Iridium’s network is the invisible thread that ties the rally together. Iridium-connected YB Tracking devices with checkpoint signaling send live vehicle locations and scoring data from along the competition route straight to the rally’s automated leaderboard. The scoring system was built and coded internally by the Rebelle team to meet the unique demands of the format. Fans at home can see scoring updates almost instantly when a team reaches a checkpoint. Iridium also keeps the rally safe and connected. Satellite phones from Iridium and Icom push-to-talk radios link staff, course officials, and rescue crews across terrain where no other signal reaches. That same network is what allows the world to watch an event that unfolds completely off the grid.

Throughout the year, the rally and course director rely on tracking and SOS devices to ensure they have a reliable safety and communications plan when pre-running in the backcountry.

It’s not just Iridium’s technology powering the 10th Rebelle Rally. Returning to compete is Suzi McBride, Chief Operating Officer and winner of the 2022 Team Spirit Award, joined this year by Iridium employee team Kimberly Carte, Systems Test Engineer, and Eva De Los Santos, Human Resources Operations Specialist.

How to Follow the Rally in Real Time

Even though the Rebelle Rally travels far beyond cell service, there are plenty of ways to stay connected to the action. Tracking and live scoring are powered by Iridium’s global satellite network, while webcasts and social media bring you right into the experience.

Despite other tracking and communication systems available, Rebelle staff never leave home without an Iridium-connected tracking device. Iridium is trusted year-round for its reliability and the durability of its partners’ products.
