9TH RALLY EDITION: OCTOBER 10 – 19, 2024

Who says Team Tuesdays can’t happen on Wednesdays?! Introducing a rookie team today from Reno, Nevada, who share a love of the ocean, great cuisine, and a destination of adventure. Welcome to the Rebelle Rally, Team #126 Briana Johnson and Jennifer Duve!

Originally from California and Texas, Briana and Jennifer signed up for the rally because spending desert days off-roading with like-minded women doing what they love was something they just could not pass up this year. Plus, with Briana’s husband lending his beloved FJ Cruiser as their competition vehicle, there was no way they couldn’t compete.

Hometown/Current town:

Briana: Bay City, TX/ Reno/ NV
Jennifer: Huntington Beach, CA / Reno, NV

Favorite Food:

Briana: Dungeness Crab (if you’ve never found yourself at the River’s End Restaurant & Inn in Jenner, CA during Dungeness crab season to get their 5-course Dungeness tasting menu…you need to do it! Oh, and don’t forget to add on the wine pairing!)
Jennifer: I am an unhealthy lover of food, so picking a favorite food is hard! I eat to match my mood, which my best friend pokes fun at me all the time about. Some of my favorites are cheeseburgers, pizzas (I’d say it’s a toss up between margarita pizza w/sausage or a gourmet vegetable pizza with white sauce), Philly cheesesteaks (I found a great Philly cheesesteak pizza so sometimes this is the perfect mix), and biscuits with sausage gravy. One would think I was a total pig after reading that list!!!

Something only your best friend knows about you:

Briana: I’m a sucker for a good romance novel!
Jennifer: My best friend knows quite a few secrets, but most of it is not shareable. 🙂 What I can share is that my favorite lazy thing to do is watch cheesy Hallmark movies with my best friend and drink wine (we can binge watch these all day/night). Most people that know me would never guess I was a Hallmark movie lover.

Favorite place ever:

Briana: Anywhere along the Pacific Ocean or a Sierra Nevada lake so long as it includes a hammock, a blanket and a good book!
Jennifer: My favorite place is the beach! Whether it’s surfing, hanging out on the beach, swimming or finding a great place to hang out for food and drinks, being at the beach allows me to recharge and allow the world’s worries to disappear!

Why did you pick the vehicle you’re competing in, the FJ?

Briana: My husband Wes generously offered up the use of his beloved FJ Cruiser for the rally!
Jennifer: My amazing driver picked the vehicle and her husband is letting us use his (although I’m not sure he understood just what got himself into, lol).

Why the Rebelle?

Briana: I’m always up for a new adventure! How could I say no to the opportunity to spend 10 days 4 wheeling in the desert with an amazing group of women?!?!
Jennifer: I got interested in the Rebelle after listening to my driver talk about it. The excitement in the way she described the event and how much she was ready for a one of a kind adventure was inspiring and I was a wee bit jealous I didn’t have a great adventure like that planned. And then all of a sudden… I get the news that her navigator couldn’t compete at the last minute, so I jumped at the chance. I can still say I don’t have a real clue what I got myself into, but I have the best driver (and friend, or as I call her, my family) and her other half that are supporting me. It has helped bring my family together in supporting me and helping me to fundraise. Even my mom ‘brags’ to her friends (which apparently is what you do even when your kids are grown)!

Any shout-outs you’d like to make while you have our attention?

Briana: I’d like to send out a big thanks to my husband, Wes, who has been my biggest supporter! Thank you to our sponsors (Rangefront Wheels & Rubicon Expedition Products) and those that have donated to help make this a reality!
Jennifer: I guess I gave my shoutouts already… but would love to add in our first sponsor, my mentor, Kevin Goss with Rangefront Wheels and my coworker turned great friend, Dana, that became our 2nd sponsor. I also want to thank my mom (who gave the largest donation); all those that let me harass them for support; and my friends that always support my crazy adventures!
